Where Did They Go from Battleship Row? A History of the Salvage at Pearl Harbor

Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, an assessment was made as to the destruction inflicted upon the Pacific Fleet. With 21 vessels sunk or damaged, the United States Navy was about to undertake the greatest maritime salvage operation in the history of the world. Mr. Arroyo illuminated us with photographs and current documentation of how technology and engineering were employed in the three-year salvage operation to raise the Pacific Fleet.

 

Speakers: Ernie Arroyo - Mr. Arroyo is the president of the Pearl Harbor History Associates. Over the last thirty years, he has made a personal commitment to the study of Pearl Harbor and its related documents. Mr. Arroyo recently published one of the most complete photo essays on the Pearl Harbor attack in a book titled Pearl Harbor.
