Cale, Sterling Session 21 |
Mr. Cale was a Pharmacist’s Mate stationed at the Naval Hospital at Pearl Harbor. He had just gotten off duty at the receiving station when the attack began. He witnessed the entire attack and participated in the rescue of sailors along Battleship Row. After the attack, Sterling was in charge of the burial detail, removing bodies from the USS Arizona. He continued to serve his country until 2005 when he retired after 57 years of government service. |

Dr. Carpenter is a Professor of Strategy and Policy and Official Historian of the U.S. Naval War College. He is an internationally renowned expert on Britain in the Age of Fighting Sail and the British Civil Wars. Dr. Carpenter has appeared frequently on the History Channel providing commentary on such things as the Battle of Britain and WWII. |
Chun, Edward Session 22 |
Mr. Chun was an 18-yeard old navy worker at the Pearl Harbor shipyard. His job was as a pipe fitter. At the time of the attack, he was along the 1010 Dock near the USS Helena and Oglala. This former St. Louis High School graduate was an eyewitness to the opening moments to the Japanese torpedo attack on Battleship Row. |

Mr. Cressman is a historian with the Ships Histories Branch of the Naval Historical Center in Washington D.C. Mr. Cressman is considered one of the preeminent experts in WWII naval history and his outstanding publication, Steady Nerves and Stout Hearts, is a definitive study of what occurred to the air groups of the USS Enterprise on December 7, 1941. |
DiVirgilio, John Session 10 |
Mr. DiVirgilio is a noted expert on the Japanese aerial attack on Pearl Harbor. He has interviewed a number of Japanese aviators and visited Japan several times to conduct his investigation. He also is an illustrator of note and has done studies of the damage done to battleships during the attack. |
