The fifth day of the workshop opened with a presentation by John Rosa on the history of Pearl Harbor and the US military presence in Hawaii from the local Hawaiian perspective.
The highlight of the week for the teachers was a panel consisting of Pearl Harbor Survivors, who related their personal experiences of December 7, 1941.
Stanford's Gary Mukai then detailed to the teachers how to incorporate the Japanese internment experience into their curricula. Following this session, teachers had an opportunity to discuss the day in small group settings.
Events with special media coverage, either a photo slide show or a video, are noted.
