STOP 10
USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center Museum - Radar
In the early morning of December 7, 1941, Privates Joseph Lockard and George Elliott, US Army radar operators on the north shore of Oahu, noticed something strange on their newly installed mobile SCR-270B radar unit. Thinking the large flight of airplanes they had called in to the operations center at Fort Shafter was an expected flight of American B-17s, the officer taking the call told the men "Well, don't worry about it." Those fateful words continue to haunt Pearl Harbor legend to this day.
