USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center Museum - Paxton Carter

Paxton Cater's naval career spanned a decade of crises. Although war was on the horizon, Carter's scrapbooks and photo albums reflect a Navy at peace and a war that would be fought by battleships a long way from Pearl Harbor. Acting Paymaster Carter fought in WWII for less than an hour; he and 1176 of his shipmates died when the Arizona was sunk on December 7, 1941.
